In the steps of Zanabazar

We propose to visit sites associated with Zanabazar and tell the story of this descendant of Genghis Khan, who exchanged the sword of his ancestors for the robes of a Tibetan monk.

Like the Dalai Lama's of Tibet, he reigned as a living God, single-handedly ushering in a golden age of renaissance in religious art and culture to change the face of Mongolia forever. This trip will paint a portrait of this most influential personage of Mongolia, this great Buddhist revolutionary whose belief in his faith and work would start the revival of Tibetan Buddhism in 17th century Mongolia. Exploring the steppe country by horseback and four wheel drive will be a unique and exquisite experience. We will be guest to a nomadic family and spend a day and night with them.
